The five Sullivan Brothers were lost when the ship to which all five were assigned, USS Juneau (CL-52) was sunk on 13, November 1942. The Navy's policy regarding family members serving together at sea in a combat situation was meant to preclude this tragedy ever happening again to one family.
The three DJ (DiGiacomo) brothers who served together on board the USS Newport News in Vietnam in 1968 were an exception to this Navy Policy - by their own request.
The DJ Brothers - DJ1 (Justin), DJ2 (John), DJ3 (Ralph) served on Thunder in NAM during 1968
